THE WINERY
Ideally located in the heart of Provence, Cave la Romaine Winery was created in 1924. Being one of the very first Cooperatives in the Vaucluse, today it includes 180 winegrowers with a production base of over 1,400 ha of vines, stretching from Séguret in the Vaucluse to Buis-les-Baronnies in the Drôme.
Our Story
The first Cooperative in the area and founded in 1924, the Winery was initially named “Vaison et du Haut-Comtat"and later renamed “La Romaine” in 1987.
In addition to its inter-communal objectives, La Romaine Cooperative is unique in that the vines straddle both the Haut Vaucluse and Drôme Provençale regions.
The Rhône Valley is unique in that it is made up of a “mosaic of terroirs”, giving rise to a wide range of appellations: IGP Méditerranée, AOP Ventoux, AOP Côtes du Rhône, AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages and AOP Côtes du Rhône Crus.
